JOHN CHUCKMAN NON-SPORTS TRADING CARDS - TOPPS LOOK 'N' SEE FAMOUS PEOPLE 1952-1953 - 135-CARD COMPLETE SET - PLUS WRAPPER, DISPLAY BOX, AND COMPLETE UNCUT SHEET - SET DESCRIPTION

This set was a favorite of mine. I especially liked the genuinely historical characters, writers, and artists - see Cards such as 27, 78, 82, 88, 89, 97, 105, 114, 124, 125, or 127. Some of the cards are extremely vibrant in color almost like impressionist paintings, and I can still remember how they were revealed like bright jewels as a wax pack was unwrapped - colorful examples include Cards 24, 47, 76, 92, or 105. The set included some cowboy images I found boring - Cards 57, 60, or 62 - but the treatment of Indian chiefs was wonderful - see Cards 56, 58, and 59. I've always thought Joan of Arc - Card 133 - resembles Ingrid Bergman and Cleopatra - Card 44 - resembles Elizabeth Taylor. Coincidence?
